Fitness to Fly

The student will be asked to complete the following declaration:

I understand that the nature of paragliding training involves running on uneven ground and that I am advised that I should wear suitable ankle supporting footwear.

I certify that I am physically able* and do not suffer from any conditions that could affect my ability to participate in the sport of paragliding. These include but are not limited to: Epilepsy, Diabetes**, Any heart condition, Vertigo, dizziness caused by low blood pressure etc.

I understand that it is my responsibility to supply a doctor's letter certifying my fitness to fly if I am over the age of 70 and/or suffer from any condition which may affect my physical performance or mental ability to fly. (See the addendum below: information to GP’s) 

Unless medically advised, I am not taking medication or drugs of any kind, nor shall I do so during my course.

Neither shall I consume ANY alcohol during, or in the twelve hours preceding tuition or be under the influence, or suffering from the effects of alcohol consumption during my participation in the course. The drink fly limit is one quarter that for drink driving.

I understand that the instructors’ decision to cease flying or terminate the course of any student for whatever reason to be final and binding. I understand that deliberate failure to comply with instructions concerning both flying and general conduct during the course may result in expulsion without recompense from the course.

For safety reasons the instructors also reserves the right to refuse to train any person they consider unfit, ill prepared or improperly equipped in any way to continue his or her tuition.

* Note: If you are unsure whether you are fit enough to fly for any reason please contact us to discuss it before booking.

** Diabetes is not generally a problem provide it is well controlled, that your instructor is informed, and that you ensure you carry adequate food/ medication.

    Information for Participants and GP’s. The sport requires participants to be capable of running a few metres, often on uneven or sloping ground. The student pilot should not be suffering from any condition that adversely affects bone density:  they may need to be able to fall from a standing position without sustaining injury. Participants should possess eyesight (with spectacles) and coordination adequate for operating a heavy goods or public service vehicle, or flying a light aircraft. Colour blindness is not a concern.

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our pages, and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "review basket / go to payments" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to complete the purchase.

Credit Card Security

All on-line transactions are processed through a secure WORLDPAY server when your order is placed. We do not have access to your card details.

Refunds

Under the distance selling regulations, you have the right to cancel your online order within 7 working days after receipt of the goods or training gift voucher. Your money will be refunded as soon as the goods/vouchers are returned to us in good condition.

After the seven day cooling-off period you can still reschedule the training if required.

Delivery Schedule

If you pay by on-line credit card we will despatch the voucher by email within 5 working days, please allow 7 days after receipt for payment by cheque or credit card details sent by post. Most orders will be delivered the next working day if we receive them before midday.

We must be advised if you do not receive delivery within 7 days of placing your order. Please check your voucher for errors when it arrives.

Tax Charges

Airworks Training Limited is not registered for VAT.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you in accordance with the Data Protection Act of 1988. You can check the information that we hold on you by writing to us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct promptly.

We only collect information about you to enable us to process your order quickly and efficiently. We will not e-mail you in the future unless you have given your consent.

The information we will collect about you includes: your name, address, phone number, e-mail address and credit card details. We do not store your credit card information after we have completed the purchase.

We do not disclose buyers information to third parties. Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the shopping cart once you have selected an item.

Complaints

If you have any complaints about the goods or services you have received from Airworks Paragliding Centre please contact us using the contact details above. All complaints will be dealt with fairly and confidentially. We will acknowledge receipt of the complaint within 24 hours and will aim to resolve it within 5 working days. We will keep you informed of the progress.
