Our Sites

We have private sites covering all wind directions, ideal for the early days. Nonetheless we will ensure that all our CP students are familiar with the local club sites they will fly once qualified. Unlike some schools, we do actually go out training on a regular basis and we offer a personal approach to training...

Elementary Pilot Course £650

This five day course takes you on to the more important building blocks needed in order to achieve a safe and fulfilling attitude towards flying. You are introduced to the theory behind the fun. We will teach you to make site assessments, the importance of the weather and air law. You will learn how to improve your newfound skills both on the ground and in the air. You will now start to fly higher and for longer, hopefully flying from the top of our 500ft hills. Elementary Pilot Rating will enable you to move onto the Club Pilot course.  You will need to join the BHPA as a full member (£121/year, £75/3 months) when you arrive here.

Club Pilot Course £650

The five day Elementary Pilot to Club Pilot course builds further on the knowledge you have gained during your EP course. More importantly, once you have purchased your equipment from us, we will teach you until you achieve CP, even if it takes 40 days! We will teach you greater control, flying even higher and longer than before, until you have achieved your first soaring flights, landing back on the top of the hill. (Our Club Pilot training includes the top landing and slope landing skills rarely taught abroad but required to fly in the UK.) We will build further on the theory, giving you a greater knowledge of our flying sites, the weather, air law, theory of flight and general airmanship. Once qualified, you will be free to join a local club and fly unsupervised, but we do prefer you to stick around and fly with us until you are truly competent!. You will need to join the BHPA as a full member (£121/year) when you arrive here.

Beginner to Paragliding Club Pilot £1199

By purchasing your complete training course when you start training, or immediately after a taster day, you save significantly on the cost of the two separate courses. More importantly, once you have purchased your equipment from us, we will teach you until you achieve CP, even if it takes 40 days! You will need to join the BHPA as a full member (£121/year) when you arrive here.

Beginner to Paramotor Club Pilot was £1499

If you wish to learn to fly a paramotor, the best way is purchase your equipment from us, but to hold off from flying a motor until you can do so without breaking anything! We recommend that you complete Club Pilot(Hill) before converting to power. Although on the face of it a little long-winded, it will leave you a much more competent and safe pilot, having completed most of the Pilot(Power) tasks and will also enable you to free-fly, which the direct access course will not. You will need to join the BHPA as a full member (£121/year) when you arrive here. Includes the hire of one of our paramotors.

Paramotor eight-day direct access course:  Add to basket.

Paragliding CP Hill and Paramotor conversion:  Add to basket.

BHPA Membership

Membership to the British Hang Gliding & Paragliding Association is mandatory because it covers you for third party liability. This is taken out on arrival at the school.

As part of your full BHPA membership, you will receive a copy of Skywings magazine for each month of membership.

Day membership is £15, three-month membership costs £67 and full annual membership is £121.

Personal Accident Insurance

Aviation is inherently dangerous and can result in injury or death.

Personal Accident Insurance is not included in your BHPA membership nor is it currently available through the BHPA. We strongly recommend that you take out Personal Accident Insurance for the duration of your paragliding course. You would have to arrange this prior to your lesson(s).
