One-Day Introduction (CREDIT CRUNCH SALE - SPECIAL PRICE £130!)

Image A whole day learning to paraglide, typically first getting airborne about lunchtime and flying all afternoon!

This is designed to give you an insight into what paragliding is all about. The introductory day is actually day one of the ten day course and your tuition will include all of the criteria that you would learn as a full course student. This ensures that should you wish to carry on to complete the training, you will already have learned the basics.

You are introduced to the equipment which includes glider, harness and helmet. You will learn to handle them on the ground and the basics of how to control them in the air. You will learn to take-off and land. Once you have acquired a reasonable level of competence you will be able to start actually flying. Typically this stage is reached just about lunchtime. You will start with flights only a few feet above the ground and should progess to flights from about 200' up the hill by the end of the day. You will have gained a good working knowledge of what is involved in learning to fly and will be ready to continue towards your club pilot rating. (maximum student weight 200 kg - 30st!)

One-Day Paramotoring Introduction (CREDIT CRUNCH SALE - SPECIAL PRICE £130!)

A whole day learning to paramotor, typically first getting airborne about lunchtime and flying all afternoon! You will not fly powered on day one.

This is designed to give you an insight into what paramotoring is all about. The introductory day is actually day one of the course and your tuition will include all of the criteria that you would learn as a full course student. This ensures that should you wish to carry on to complete the training, you will already have learned the basics.

You are introduced to the equipment which includes glider, harness and helmet. You will learn to handle them on the ground and the basics of how to control them in the air. You will learn to take-off and land. Once you have acquired a reasonable level of competence you will be able to start actually flying. Typically this stage is reached just about lunchtime. You will start with gliding flights only a few feet above the ground and should progess to flights from about 200' up the hill by the end of the day. Air Experience - Dual/Tandem Flights - £140

Image Fly with the best - British Champion 2000 and 2002 Team Captain, Steve Purdie. If you just want to fly straight from the top of the hill without going through all the training to EP or CP standard, then a tandem flight is what you're looking for. After an introduction to how it all works and a safety and pre-flight briefing, you will soar above the hills for anything up to thirty minutes. If it is not possible to soar, then we will ask you to come back another day and try again! 

If you decide you would like to continue with training, then you will have to start with a One Day Introduction to get you through the basics. Maximum student weight 100kg.

Elementary Pilot Course - 5 sessions - £550

This takes you on to the more important building blocks needed in order to achieve a safe and fulfilling attitude towards flying. You are introduced to the theory behind the fun. We will teach you to make site assessments, the importance of the weather and air law. You will learn how to improve your newfound skills both on the ground and in the air. You will now start to fly higher and for longer, hopefully flying from the top of our 500ft hills. There will be a short written exam at the end of this course, which once passed will enable you to move onto the Club Pilot course.

Club Pilot (Novice) Course - 5 sessions - £550

Image The Club Pilot course builds further on the knowledge you have gained during your EP course. We will teach you greater control, flying even higher and longer than before, until you have achieved your first soaring flights and landed back on the top of the hill. We will build further on the theory, giving you a greater knowledge of our flying sites, the weather, air law, theory of flight and general airmanship. Again, there will be a written exam before you are awarded your CP (Novice) rating. Once qualified, you will be free to join a local club and fly unsupervised, but we do prefer you to stick around us until you are truly competent!.

Beginner to Paragliding Club Pilot - 10+ Sessions - £990

By purchasing your complete training course when you start training, or immediately after a taster day, you save significantly on the cost of the two separate courses. More importantly, once you are registered on our full Ab-initio to CP course, we will teach you until you achieve CP, even if it takes 20 days!

Beginner to Paramotor Club Pilot - 6 sessions - £900

If you wish to learn to fly a paramotor, the best way is purchase your equipment from us, but to start on our equipment and hold off from flying your own motor until you can do so without breaking anything! Our direct access course covers 6 sessions scheduled at your convenience. The price is reduced to £900 if you have or plan to purchase your kit from us. If necessary extra tuition is available for £150/session. If you have purchased your equipment elsewhere, we will train you for £200/day. We actually recommend that you complete Club Pilot(Hill) (£970/10 days) before converting to power (£300/2days). Although on the face of it a little pricier, it will leave you a much more competent and safe pilot.

We don't offer any gimmicky fast tracking options; all of our students are on the fast track if they so desire. Alternatively, if you wish to learn at a more sedate pace, we can help there too.

Please Note: Lessons do not have to be taken on consecutive days and may take more or less days than stated, depending on the individual's ability. It is advisable not to leave too much time between lessons, as progression through your course will be detrimentally affected. If you leave more than one month between lessons, you will be required to purchase an additional days training (£99) for each month without flying. Courses must be completed within 12 months of commencing. On all our courses we will only fly if it is 100% safe to do so;
* the Duty Instructors decision is final.
