Welcome to Paragliding Country

Premium flying sites on the beautiful Sussex Downs

Image

Have you ever dreamed of soaring like a bird? Airworks can make that dream a reality. Paragliding and paramotoring can be enjoyed be people of any age - You can learn to paramotor in as little as six days or learn to paraglide in as few as ten days.

Paragliding is just made for the mid-life crisis - Did you know that about half of the UK paraglider pilots are beyond retirement age, so no excuses about being too old? Also it is not about strength, so the ladies actually tend to learn faster!

Learn to fly with the Airworks Paragliding School. We train more pilots to completion of their Club Pilot rating than any other southern school, despite keeping our group sizes small and having a small intake! We train orders of magnitude more pilots to the more advanced 'Pilot' and 'Advanced Pilot' ratings than all other local schools put together. We are the only BHPA school providing Paramotor training in Sussex.

Airworks Paragliding Centre is situated right in the heart of the premier flying sites of south east England on Sussex's beautiful South Downs. We are 400 metres north of the A27 in the village of Glynde and are along the main Brighton and London to Eastbourne railway lines.

Alongside our centre is a fully stocked shop of  paramotors, paragliders, hang gliders and associated equipment. We also have excellent classroom facilities equipped for all your theory and tuition needs and an on-site cafe. Please feel free to pop in for a coffee and a chat,

This unseasonal weather

Excellent flying interspersed amongst truly hideous days seems to be the nature of this winter.

Wednesday to Saturday looks ok on today's forecasts (24/1/21)

Anyone up north needs to be keeping an eye to the sky of an evening as the Aurora Borealis has been spectacular and may last another day or so.

SIV - Simulated Incidents in Flight

SIV in the first world! Lake Annecy, France. May 2012

SIV AnnecyThis course is personally tailored specifically to ensure that whatever level pilot you are now, you'll remain in one piece to become an old pilot! As well as being educational, SIV is great fun... The initial trepidation at collapsing your perfectly functional glider is rapidly replaced by a huge grin as you learn how safe your wing is and just how easy it is to pilot out of the most unusual attitudes ...unless you have got a two-liner that is ;0)
